Advanced Construction Techniques

The Advanced Construction Techniques (ACT) technology chain is a group of new technologies which give a bonus to build cost and time to the new ship classes in the game. These researched bonuses are Empire modifiers, meaning they apply to all spaceports, so you don’t have to build multiple modules for these bonuses.

With changes to Assembly Yards in Patch 1.8, a new ACT Tech for the vanilla ship classes (Corvette, Destroyer, Cruiser, & Battleship) was added to cover the “difference” between the bonuses provided by NSC ACT Techs and the vanilla assembly yards. The Assembly Yards are still required to get the full benefits.

The research requirements for these new techs are below. You must unlock the appropriate Spaceport Level and research all ships before that spaceport level so the tech will unlock. This is to ensure all ships that have bonuses for that tech are already researched and used before you can get the bonuses, so there are no “cheat” bonuses.

All of these techs provide a 35% bonus to build speed and a 20% reduction in build cost.

  • Advanced Construction Techniques (Superdreadnought)

  • Advanced Construction Techniques (Flagship) – This is a Rare tech and will not appear before game year 2250

    • Spaceport Level 6
    • Space Defense Stations Level 3
  • Advanced Construction Techniques (HQ Station) – This is a Rare tech and will not appear before game year 2260
