NSC Advanced Reactors

These NSC advanced reactors are levels 6-10 of the standard vanilla reactor set plus a unique level 11 reactor, along with tweaks to certain vanilla reactor’s names/descriptions and an icon overall to make the entire set feel natural and more in-line with a natural reactor progression.

These reactors are part of the NSC Component Feature, and are accessible to all NSC Players who do not use another popular Stellaris component mod, such as NHunter’s Extra Ship Components, TFW’s Bunch of Ship Parts, or Guilliman’s Crystallis. If you have one of these mods active alongside NSC, NSC will not give you the NSC Components Feature, to allow you to use only utilize one component mod set to avoid clutter in your component lists. However, inside the NSC Features Menu will be a new option allowing you to gain access to the NSC Component Feature even if you have another component mod to give you the choice.

IMPORTANT: As of this writing, only the ESC mod is currently setup to support the NSC Component Feature. BOSP & Crystallis support is currently in development, and this line will be updated to inform you when support for the latter two mods becomes available.

For those of you who do not like the icon changes because you don’t use the NSC Component Feature due to another component mod or just personal taste, a new addon will be made available to restore the original vanilla icons for those who want those instead.

In addition to adding 5 new “regular” reactor tiers, NSC also adapted the names of certain vanilla reactors to help make the progression from levels 1-10 feel natural. With this in mind, the following vanilla reactors had their names and descriptions changed/switched:

Antimatter Reactor (Level 4) –> Advanced Nuclear Reactor
Zero Point Reactor (Level 5) –> Antimatter Reactor

 

Graviton Reactor (Level 6):

“Adding gravitational and graviton based based particles to reinforce an antimatter reaction greatly increases the energy production of our reactors.”

Component Stats:

  • Small Reactor: Provides 40 Power, costs 35 Minerals
  • Medium Reactor: Provides 80 Power, costs 70 Minerals
  • Large Reactor: Provides 160 Power, costs 140 Minerals

Research Requirements:

  • Zero Point Power
  • Graviton Reactor

 

Dark Matter Reactor (Level 7):

“Manipulating and harnessing elemental Dark Matter has allowed us to take antimatter and graviton reactions to a new level, producing even more power for our reactors, however, lack of complete understanding of dark matter limits the amount we can draw.”

Component Stats:

  • Small Reactor: Provides 50 Power, costs 45 Minerals
  • Medium Reactor: Provides 100 Power, costs 90 Minerals
  • Large Reactor: Provides 200 Power, costs 180 Minerals

  • Zero Point Power (Vanilla Level 5, now Antimatter Reactor)
  • Graviton Reactor
  • Dark Matter Reactor

 

Singularity Reactor (Level 8):

“Taking micro-singularities and harnessing their power has granted us the power of stars, however, due to the need to micro-size the singularity for safety and convenience limits the available power draw.”

Component Stats:

  • Small Reactor: Provides 60 Power, costs 55 Minerals
  • Medium Reactor: Provides 120 Power, costs 110 Minerals
  • Large Reactor: Provides 240 Power, costs 220 Minerals

  • Zero Point Power (Vanilla Level 5, now Antimatter Reactor)
  • Graviton Reactor
  • Dark Matter Reactor
  • Singularity Reactor

 

Multidimensional Reactor (Level 9):

“Creating a matter bridge between different dimensions and alternative realities allows for a steady, if somewhat limited, stream of vacuum energy to power our next generation of reactors.”

Component Stats:

  • Small Reactor: Provides 70 Power, costs 65 Minerals
  • Medium Reactor: Provides 140 Power, costs 130 Minerals
  • Large Reactor: Provides 280 Power, costs 260 Minerals

Research Requirements:

  • Zero Point Power (Vanilla Level 5, now Antimatter Reactor)
  • Graviton Reactor
  • Dark Matter Reactor
  • Singularity Reactor
  • Multidimensional Reactor

 

Zero Point Reactor (Level 10):

“Zero Point Modules collect vacuum energy from artificial pockets of subspace time, allowing for a continuous and almost endless supply of energy on a massive scale. Energy doesn’t get much more efficient than this.”

Component Stats:

  • Small Reactor: Provides 80 Power, costs 75 Minerals
  • Medium Reactor: Provides 160 Power, costs 150 Minerals
  • Large Reactor: Provides 320 Power, costs 300 Minerals

Optimized Enigmatic Power Core (Unique):

“Taking advantage of the knowledge discovered from the Enigmatic Fortress along with our own discoveries, we can now take zero point energy directly from the subspace of our own universe without the risk of creating unstable exotic particles, allowing continuous energy limited only by our ability to control the flow of energy.”

Component Stats:

  • Small Reactor: Provides 100 Power, costs 95 Minerals
  • Medium Reactor: Provides 200 Power, costs 190 Minerals
  • Large Reactor: Provides 400 Power, costs 380 Minerals

NOTICE: This Reactor requires both the Zero Point Reactor (Level 10) and the Enigmatic Power Core tech only available through the Enigmatic Fortress, thus this component requires the Leviathans DLC to be discovered and function.
